The Plate Chop
OVERALL RATING
From my Instagram post @blownawayct. Mobility exercises through the transverse plain (body rotation) is a great way to improve elasticity and resiliency in the fascia muscle fibers which connects one muscle to another throughout our entire bodies. There's not enough folks working enough on the transverse plain. Most people just workout with exercises going up/down or side to side. Think about how much twisting and reaching we do; golf swing, tennis, reaching for something in a top shelf, closing a car door, etc. Even when running, there are slight body rotations in the posterior chain between our lower backs and upper thoracic back. The plate chop is one of those exercises that are great in developing mobility and elasticity throughout the body and is a great warm up exercise as well. Here you are providing mobility in your lats, obliques, lower back, and glutes.
