I first got started in working out back around 2005 after my boss asked me if I had lost weight. Had really been taking notice nor was I weighing myself, so jumped on the scales at work and weighed a shocking 54kg (I'm177cm/5'10" tall). So I was well underweight. Started working out and put on some muscle weight, getting back up to 68kg (still underweight but better than 54kg). After taking a transfer and promotion within the company I worked for, I stopped working out about 18mths later but managed to maintain my weight. Just before moving interstate, I started with the weight training again and signed up to the gym again once I moved. Worked out in this capacity for 18mths and used mass gainer to gain more weight. Once again, I stopped training but this time my weight escalated and I stacked on nearly 20kgs (most of that being fat). After getting tests done nearly a year ago, I was told my cholesterol was bordering the use of medication if I didn't drop my weight. I have since dedicated myself to eating healthier, bodybuilding and doing cardio to obtain better cardiovascular health. My main motivation being the fact that I don't have kids yet but when I do, I want to be there for them and be the father they deserve to have, fit, healthy and happy.
I love bodybuilding/working out because for me, it's stress relief. Although it seems like I'm being anti-social, there's nothing better for me than sticking in the headphones, cranking up the music and just pumping away all the craziness that goes on in my head for 1-2hrs. This is my life now, no retreat, no surrender!!
