Definitely getting the urge to compete again soon...maybe in November or December? Except I am probably insane for wanting to prep through the holiday season! Hahaha! I know I preach about not taking extreme measures for weight loss (and I stand by that) but I do believe it is necessary to get a little uncomfortable with your training & nutrition in order to push your limits and to attain a "stage-ready" physique. One of the reasons why I love competing is because it is just as challenging mentally as it is physically. For the average person looking to get fit and shed some fat, this may be an unrealistic portrayal of "fitness" because much of it is an illusion- this was achieved by sodium/carb/water manipulation the week of my show (of course in addition to months of training). I promise you no competitor walks around with shredded abs all year long and it's not the only thing you should be striving to attain in terms of fitness. In order to keep improving your physique, it's necessary to go through periods of eating in a surplus while continuing to train hard. This is one of the reasons why I have taken so much time off from competing. I'm excited to see the improvements I have made the next time I do decide to step on stage!!
