Transformation time!
OVERALL RATING
As much as I hate the photo on the left I'm glad I saved it because sharing it with you guys helps to keep me motivated :) The greatest transformation between these photos has been a mental one; when I first became interested in fitness I had a very all or nothing mindset. Because of this, I found myself suffering from restrictive tendencies and an unhealthy relationship with food. I became stuck in a constant weight loss/regain cycle. My philosophy regarding training and nutrition is always evolving and there is nothing I am more passionate about than learning about food & fitness--but I think one of the most important things I have learned thus far is to value food as a source of energy. I believe in being strict with my diet without being restrictive. This means choosing to eat food that will fuel my workouts, but not beating myself up and believing all of my work has been for nothing just because I ate something like cookies or ice cream. The moment I made the decision to stop perceiving certain foods as "good" or "bad" was a major transitional point in my journey. Take it one day at a time. There have been plenty of times where I wanted to give up. But I didn't, and neither should you.
