Life Appreciation Day
OVERALL RATING
1 year ago today I woke up in ICU hooked up to a ventilator unable to move my right leg and couldnt see properly (and had an impressive c-section incision). After my bub was born I had a suspected Malignant Hyperthermia episode (a genetic allergic reaction to anaesthesia). My body temp got to 43.5°c and I had been given only a 30% chance of survival. The doctors were sure my brain couldn't come through it unscathed. So today is a day I am so grateful for, I am choosing to call it my "Life Appreciation Day" Every milestone I hit..from breathing on my own, recognising my family, talking, days later standing up and then walking weeks later astounded the Doctors. I never thought I wasn't going to get back to normal I just kept working at it. I had a newborn baby that needed his Mumma. So today while I reflect on all that has happened my overwhelming feeling is that of gratitude for the miracle that I was given. So today is my #lifeappreciationday. What do you have to be appreciative for today?
