I'd forgotten just how far I have come
OVERALL RATING
So I just ran into my physio from when I was in hospital and he was absolutely shocked. See the last time he saw me was leaving the hospital walking with the aid of a walking stick. That was only 28 weeks ago. So that started me reflecting on my journey and while the #250kchallenge for me wont end in chiseled abs and defined muscles like many others it is about so much more than that. 7 months ago I went to hospital expecting it to be one of the best days of my life. I was in labour with my 2nd baby but it wasnt going to plan, we were rushed in for an emergency c-section. After he was born I knew something was wrong but I fell in a coma before I could tell anyone. It happened that fast. My temp skyrocketed and my body was in massive convulsions. I was packed in ice and given litres of a life saving drug pumped straight into an artery in my neck. My temp hit 43.5 Degrees Celsius and my family were told that it would be a miracle if I survived. Somehow I was granted that miracle. I woke up in ICU on a ventilator not knowing anything. I had survived but my body had been through so much. I had double vision and more concerning no movement in my right leg. I also suffered weakness in my right arm and face. It is suggested I had a stroke. With physio and time my movement returned and my vision cleared. Sometimes I forget that this happened just 28 weeks ago. 28 weeks ago life in a wheelchair was a possibility, 28 weeks ago my husband was told to expect the worse but today as I lift heavier weights, as I run on the treadmill, as I look in the mirror that nightmare seems like a lifetime ago. Thank you @bodybuildingcom & @dymatize for giving me a plan and a goal, for motivating me to turn my life around. I will be forever grateful for the day I came across the #250kchallenge.
