2nd Melanoma Surgery
OVERALL RATING
MY LIFE SAVED (really) BY My FITNESS PROGRESS PICS I was keeping this to myself... Only sharing it with immediate family- it really knocked me off my feet- which is an understatement. The more I read though the information I was given, the more I feel I am doing my family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers a dis-service... I take my fitness progress pics weekly, sometimes more; they ignite a fire in me. A week following my bday on 1/20, I noticed a mole on the back of my arm and thought, I don't remember having one there!!?! (I am super moly).. I was due for my annual dermatologist appointment so I made it & added it to my list of things to discuss. They were able to get me the next day. She was concerned about my mole and performed a minor in office surgery to remove it THAT DAY. 1 week later the results came back as Stage 0 Melanoma ??. 1 week to that day I had a 2" long x 1" wide section cut from the back of my arm and 20 stitches later the bottom photo is the result. I tell you this because if it were found later my chances of surviving Melanoma drop DRAMATICALLY (from 95-90% down to the 20% depending on the stage)! Check your body, check it often.. I never thought it would happen to me! I am a religious sunscreen wearer and spray tanner.. But in HS and college definitely indulged in tanning beds far too often. It by no means was determined as the cause, but who knows - I am sure it didn't help. Your body is your temple, treat is as such and do everything in your power to nourish and treasure the gift God has given you!
