Today I was faster. Today I was stronger. I upped my speed from 5mph to 5.5mph. This running for me is about being in contention over the last 1k. That's when it's about what I will have in my core. I will have run all the strength, all the superficial fitness out of myself, and it really comes down to what's left inside of me. What made me begin in the first place. To be able to draw deep and pull something out of myself which is one of the most tremendous things about learning to love running again. I never want to run just to feel good. I want to run or bike or lift weights because I love it. Not because I have too. I am to old to do the HAVE TOO. I am now doing things because I LOVE TOO. The music of my training is a powerful strain, one of those tunes of glory. It asks me to forsake pleasures, to discipline the body, to find courage, to renew faith and to become me again, utterly and completely be that #fitgrandpaonajourney #fitguyonajourney So I challenge you all today.
