Slow moving on my day off. Gaining more lean muscle and shredding unwanted weight. I believe the biggest struggle I have is more the mind than going up or down in weights lifted. Mental fitness is just as important as physical fitness, and shouldnât be neglected. Including mental dexterity exercises into your daily routine can help you reap the benefits of a sharper mind and a healthier body for years to come. Mental fitness means keeping your brain and emotional health in tip-top shape. But there is even more. I still can look in the mirror and see fat Garth. Or I can look in the mirror and I donât see any change. The mind is powerful and it can also be deceptive into believing something other than it should. Just as physical fitness is important each day so is mental well being. We all struggle on different levels with our mental wellness and there is no shame in that. Itâs ok to say it. For me itâs a daily reminder that I am valuable and worthy of acceptance. I meet people everyday. Some have shared their struggles of not feeling good enough or worthy of success or praise. I can relate. Thatâs why for me I choose everyday to come alongside of friends and people I meet and let them know how valuable they are to me. I have never worked in a place before in my life outside of working for my relatives where I felt appreciated. Kinda makes me stop and think sometimes. My coworkers if they donât see me because they are gone when I arrive will come and visit me while at work. If that doesnât make me feel special nothing will. Or like yesterday- bringing their kids so I can hand out some candy. They didnât have to but they wanted too. I often give more than I received over the years. But I canât seem to out give my friends at work. I am absolutely blessed and it certainly helps me renew my mind and how I view me.
