I picked up my first dumbbell as a teen - being the skinny guy at school, I suffered some pretty embarrassing and hurtful experiences.
Being skinny carried me through to my early 20's, when I finally realised that I was borderline anorexic (lets face it, I probably was) and had to do something about it.
Work had a great gym in the basement at discounted rates, so I joined and enjoyed working out late on my own in an empty gym.
This has continued (on and off) for the past 10+ years, where I'm finally a decent size and looking to become extraordinary.
I love the process of positive change. Seeing my body transform itself to something better is awesome.
I also enjoy the time in the gym to focus and de-stress. It's amazing how nothing from outside can penetrate the walls of a gym when you're truly focused on a goal.
I also love doing what people said I could never do.
