In June of 2010 my lung spontaneously collapsed - the doctors said it was bound to happen, because of my size. I want to say I was only about 106lbs when I left the hospital. After being discharged, I read a lot of fitness magazines, just for the hell of it, I hadn't yet made the decision to build my body up. When I came across the "success story" section in the back of Men's Fitness, I started thinking I should push myself to make a speedy recovery and become a "success story," haha. It's been a long journey, and I've lost sight of my goal quite a bit (due to other traumatic instances), but I'm still trying to fight for that goal. I haven't suffered many lung complications since, so I'm pushing myself just as hard - if not more - than anyone else I know. With a lot of hard work and dedication I would like to become a certified personal trainer, and a fitness model (in my dreams, hah).
It's the most rewarding feeling I've ever experienced. Finishing intense new workouts, excelling at fit tests, besting my mile time, noticing the increases in my strength, endurance, agility, etc
