In December of 2003, my dad, who had been overweight all of his life and was a diabetic, died in a car wreck when he blacked out at the wheel. More recently, my mom was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, and a history of diabetes in her family is starting to come to light. To top it all off, quite honestly, I got sick and tired of not being able to fit in the restraints on roller coasters (I'm a big coaster fan). So, in August, I decided it was time to stop making excuses and start doing something about my body!
Obviously I've got a long way to go, but I love knowing that I *can* transform my body, and that I *don't* have to live this way. I've always admired bodybuilders, and now I'm working on joining their ranks!
I Corinthians 16:19-20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
I Corinthians 9:27a No, I beat my body and make it my slave.
