In the past, I've always been active but never had any fitness or appearance goals. Gymnastics as a kid, then track for a year, golf, and bowling throughout middle and high school. In college, I started getting familiar with gym equipment, but mostly got my exercise through paddling on my dragon boat team. Once I entered the workforce, my mom of all people introduced me to hot yoga and since then I have an affinity for hot (and nonheated) yoga and pilates.
I would say I officially started working on my fitness and appearance goals in June 2013.
Working out keeps me mentally and emotionally balanced, and physically I feel like I'm treating my body well. Plus, it's quality time for me and the boyfriend and a shared goal that helps strengthen our relationship. Sure, couples training together may not always be rainbows and sunshine, but that's what headphones are for...
