I have always been active since I was a child. I started lifting my senior year of high school and qualified for State Championships on the Powerlifting team. After I graduated, I joined the USN and started doing crossfit for a couple of years. I enjoyed it and loved the community but it wasn't for me. I have been on the Powerlifting team at the United States Naval Academy for a year and qualified for Nationals! However, I recently herniated a disc back; so extremely heavy lifting it out of my reach for a couple years.
I was spoke to about joining the BodyBuilding team and it sparked my interest. I have always wanted to compete and challenge myself with that kind of strict and elite training so now I am a part of the Bodybuilding team at the Naval Academy and competed JUNE2017 in my first NPC competition. It was incredible, I was in Bikini division and got last place.. However, I am not quitting. I have decided I want to move up a division and now am training for figure!!!!
I am also signed up for the #250Kchallenge and can't wait to learn from others during this competition.
I love working out because of how YOU are in control of how your body changes. I think it is incredible of how many sports and clubs are available so we can adapt to what we are passionate about. The people are amazing and understand the kind of craziness we put ourselves through so we can manipulate our body how we want !
