I got tired of being fat! I realized since I graduated pharmacy school, I went from 180+ to a whopping 230+. I carried this weight into my first professional job where it was common to order lunch EVERYDAY. My fiance kept telling me I needed to eat healthier and exercise because he was worried I was gaining too much weight in a short period of time. He has never called me fat, but he did help guide me to being more healthy. I work 12-hour days on my feet the whole time and my body weight was not helping me at all. My knees are bad and that extra weight made my whole body ache. I had severe shoulder pain and back pain to the point that I couldn't walk. I ended up going to 2 chiropractors and a massage therapist and thought I was suffering from fibromyalgia. Long story short, I got off my butt, ate healthier, and I have yet to have any pain besides my feet if I work too many days in a row.
In my line of work, I tend to get stressed out. Working out gave me an outlet to let loose and get rid of my stress. I use it as a time to relax and reflect on just me. I have to say that it helps me to deal better with anxiety and stress. My fiance noticed that I tend to gain muscle mass pretty quickly in his terms, "for a girl". I recently decided to push my limits and increase my weights doing, traps, biceps, triceps, quads, and hamstrings. Even my co-workers and customers have noticed a difference!
