From what i can remember it was my best friend mike that got me started in the gym. I had moved out of my parents house when i was 17 and moved in with a guy who a few years down the road would become my best friend. He got me a job working with him at a small fitness store where we sold home gyms and treadmills and such. We had only been going to the gym for a short time, and we had got a good deal on some protein so we bought 3 5lb tubs each. I dont remember the name of it, but it was the worst thing i had ever tasted and completely turned me off from wanting to even go to the gym. So some years past and many parties and other things not good for the body.
I ended up meeting back up with mike when I was about 20 years old and we became roomates again. We started to hit the gym really hard! Mike and brett (my 2 workout partners) had been working out together for over 2 years at this point and were naturally way bigger than me. But I started to notice that I was gaining alot faster than both of them and quickly catching up! They really gave me the overall idea of how to get where i am at today and I owe all my thanks to them! Now I can only seem to find the time to get in shape on deployments...hopefully I can continue when I return home. One things forsure my diet has changed and that will remain!
When I go to the gym I like to look around and people watch. You see that guy or girl you admire because you can tell all the hard work that they have put in the gym and it inspires you! When you start to notice people doing the same thing to you, it is very motivating!
I love feeling the warmth from the blood start to fill up the muscle. Looking down at your veins thinking they look like highways and side roads.
When you wake up in the morning dry and lean and think "this is why i kill myself in the gym."
