I stepped on the scale in 2010 and saw my weight at 220lbs. I knew I had to do something and I couldn't make excuses anymore. I used to tell myself that I didn't have time because I was a single, full-time working mom with almost no help. How could I find time to work out with kids who were under 2 (this was in 2009)?
I told myself that ten minutes was better than no minutes and I started working out at home, ten minutes per day before my day got started. I made small changes until December 2012. Then I decided to step it up and began to further change my eating habits and increased my exercise.
In May 2013, I began running and ran my first half marathon in August 2013. From February 2013 to November 2013 - I went from 175lbs to 137lbs.
Since then I've stopped looking at the scales because I feel like I'm starting to build muscle and can't rely on a scale anymore.
