I was pretty active and even did some bodybuilding in high school...marriage then kids kept me so crazy I didn't think I had time to do workouts. I started before I turned 40 when I found out my mom was on disability for health issues and then both parents were diabetic. I knew I needed to do something more serious about my own health. I dropped weight but I didn't really make the lifestyle changes I needed to maintain it. Finally the husband and I got on the same page about the foods we ate and the type of training we were doing and finally the fat began to come off and the muscle started to come on. We feel better now at 47 than we did when we were in our late 20s and 30s.
I love how I feel. I am in love with the idea of being stronger! I don't want to feel weak...in body or mind if I can help it. Being healthier! feels awesome. I don't want to be the typical old lady when my 50th birthday rolls around...i want to be the one that people look at and say, she's fifty? Naw! Or maybe be the girl who out arm wrestles them lol.
