I was a gymnast through high school and most of college. As such, staying fit came pretty naturally with 20-24 hours a week of practice. Now that I'm in graduate school and I'm getting older (and busier!), my physique is slipping away. I'm using this to try and maintain my motivation and drive to stay fit and focus on becoming a more balanced and fit person for the long run.
I love to exercise - it's great stress relief! I also like feeling and looking in shape. I think a good body and sound mind go hand in hand. I find that I mentally start slipping and stressing when I let my body go and start eating junk. I still do a bit of gymnastics and I'm a hobby runner and cyclist, so anything to help me improve my performance here is also a plus.
My typical weekly workout routine is weightlifting (tracked, for the most part) Monday - arms and Wednesday - legs
I do gymnastics and body weight oriented strength training on the floor, rings, and parallel bars - mostly arm/ab and some dynamic leg/cardio stuff Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I do a core and ab workout and some HIIT stuff on Saturdays.
Fridays are for drinking and Sundays are for school/rest.
