I originally started working out back in the high school sports days. After that I became lazy and started to use my time to watch tv or play a video game. When I was 20 years old I was up to 268 lbs and was a smoker and a drinker. I quit smoking, started a strict diet and a lot of cardio exercise (mainly running). I did lift during that time but I was mostly focused on trimming up and did not have a whole lot of education. I did drop myself down to 183 lbs but it was hard to maintain, but this did have it's consequences, I developed tendonitis in my knees that still bothers me to this day. Around 2005 I was back up to 210 lbs. I have since explored different methods of exercise and as of now (1/25/12) I am doing the 12 week Transformation with Kris Gethin. I figure that I am 30 years old now, it is time to be responsible for my body and to make myself feel good about how I look.
