Don't let this scare you but I started weight lifting in 1979 to get bigger to play H.S. football. My "Big" arms have been on "back order" since then. LOL I joined the army in late 1981 and I did basic physical fitness for many years until a divorce allowed me to chase a childhood dream. in 1992 I made it through Special Forces School and I entered the world of the Green Berets. At the age of 29 I discovered a hidden drive within me to push myself past my normal pain thressholds to achive my goals. I once did 110 push-ups in 2 minutes for a PT test at the age of 31. I retired in 2001 and started adventure racing in 2002. Mountain biking became a passion and weight lifting got pushed aside. Then children came in 2005 and 2007 and the adventure racing somehow fell out of focus too. Once the down turn in the economy finally effected my family and I directly in 2011 I found myself falling back on some old skills. I'm now in Afghanistan working in diplomatic security. Since there is no posible personal life outside the walls I've turned my focus back to fitness and weight lifting. I've just adjusted my weight lifting program to Crossfit workouts 3 times a week and weight lifting in between those workouts.
