8-25-14 Over the past 5 years I have been dealing with high levels of fatigue, Random muscular pains through out my body, low concentration, My skin feels like its on fire and hurts just to have someone touch me. During this time I also got fat. I weighed over 220 pounds.
I have seen many many Doctors and specialist, over the years trying to find a resolution for what is going on. Many tests were done. The final test was a biopsy on my right Deltoid. They took out a 1 inch cube of muscle for their testing. Their answer???? There is a lot there but not enough of a one item to point directly at what to call the problem. Could be fibromyalgia and cronic fatigue, (other possibilities) but they are not sure. I was prescribed a med to try and help. A side effect could alter how the mind works⦠Dangerouslyâ¦. I threw them away and never took one pillâ¦.
After all this I decided enough of the Doctors, I am taking control of this myself. Jan 6th 2014, I started the gym routine up. First Day in I tore my Meniscus on my Right knee jogging on a tread millâ¦.(uggghh!!!! ) I kept at it with low impact exercises and soon had knee surgery. After 6 weeks of recovery I started lifting weights.
I started with Bar Weight and pushed through the pain. Baby Stepped⦠I gradually increased my weight and kept pushing through the pain. I lift both at home and at the Gym. Now as of today I have lost 50 pounds! The issues I mentioned above I would say are 95% gone. My skin donât burn, my muscles donât ache (not counting work out ache) My fatigue is so much more tolerable, and my concentration and focus is back to normal.
I still have to be cautious on how heavy I lift and only gradually make increases. I learned the hard way I canât do high weight low reps, So I do what I can with lighter weights and high reps, ( I still try to cheat the heavy in :P )
I intend on keeping up this new trend of mine to stay healthy and pain free. I donât body build for competition, or looks for others to see⦠I do it for meâ¦. I like how I feel and look.
I look forward to meeting new people interested in being fit, seeing this site helps keep me motivated!
