I had one simple goal for my fitness, which in all honesty was to do a pull up. Struggled with that all my life, no upper body strength and dense legs an equation for failure. My friend said he could help, we became workout buddies and I have been building muscle ever since. Since, consistently working out I ran my first 15K! Never thought that would happen since I am NOT a runner. Still working on that pull up, I get closer and closer, and one day I will achieve not only one but many.
When life got hectic with school in the past or everything seems so up in the air, working out is something that is constant and that I can have control over. It clears my head and when you get to push through obstacles in weight it is so rewarding. Learning more about the bodybuilding world has been quite enlightening and I hope to continue to teach women that around me that lifting weight is not "scary" and will not bulk you up. We ned to stop obsessing with the scale mentality. I love the phrase "Strong is the new Skinny".
