I have been involved in sports and organized athletics since I was five years old - the main reason for my personal training and instructing was my older brother - he was the main influence and motivation to reach out to and help others. My older brother is disabled, and over the years he experienced many health difficulties, including obesity.
While i was in college, I studied, amongst other things, exercise science and psychology in the hopes of helping my brother. Over the course of a two year intervention, I was able to help him combat his obesity, in effect aiding him to lose nearly half of his body weight in a safe time frame and giving him life long tools to assist himself and keep himself healthy, both from a nutritional and exercise stand point.
I have used this real life example and shared it with all my clients and they have taken inspiration and motivation from it in helping them achieve their goals.
Working out is more than just a tool to improve your appreciation of aesthetics, or how aesthetically pleasing your body can be. While I am not one to tell you NOT to appreciate the look of your body, hell you worked for it and you should appreciate it, the Positive Internal impact of working out is much more important.
I love working out for many reasons: It is a stress reliever, an endorphin booster, aids in circulation, makes my heart stronger, and gives me an overall fantastic sense of accomplishment and well being.
Those are just some of the reasons I love fitness!
