I've always been actively involved in sports. During my university days, I discovered weight training and never looked back. A few years back, a driver ran into the back of my car at a red light. I sustained some soft tissue damage from the whiplash. I was unable to train or exercise for 12 months. My weight ballooned up to 90kgs and I hated what I looked like or felt. Once I was given the OK by my doctors to head back to the gym, I started on my slow journey to lose the unwanted kilos and inches. Rock climbing, powerlifting and meal prepping have helped me to bring my weight down to 77kg. I've also dropped down 2 dress sizes. I still have at least 10kgs to lose but I'm enjoying the progress I've made... The changes in my appearance, my health... They are the best motivation for me to keep going!
I enjoy rock climbing for the mental and physical challenge. When I'm on the wall or rock face, it's just me vs the project I'm climbing...there is no win or lose... It's just me doing my best. When I don't complete a climb, it makes me even more determined to finish it the next time I'm back... I LOVE powerlifting even though I'm still a novice. I love the fact that each week, I'm lifting, benching and squatting more reps, more weight... I love the feeling of growing stronger... My confidence has increased, my posture is straighter, and my health is so much better... I have more energy, more mental focus and alertness... And eating healthier meals... Making conscious healthy food choices... I feel so much better for it.
