Being in the world's greatest US Air Force, of course, you have to be able to pass your PT test with flying colors. And I managed that. I never ran a day in my life until a few months before I left for BMT. Trust me, that first day of running in boot camp was terrible, but I don't regret a single part of it. I've progressed in so many ways that I thought was impossible. My 1.5 mile run time in the beginning wasn't even passing standards at 16 mins. I shaved it off a couple of mins to 11:30 in just less than 8 weeks and even received the Thunderbolt Award. I couldn't do more than one push up and now I can max 50 push ups in one minute. Sit Ups were not necessarily a problem area for me, but I max those out too. I can do 60 sit ups in a minute. & it all was for a good cause... to be healthy, be a better airman & be battle ready. So that I, along with my fellow airmen, can fight for our nation when the call comes.
