I grew up in a violent neighborhood in the middle east. I wasn't the toughest guy on the block but was always involved in trouble. I would frequently go home after receiving several blows to the face, and bruises all over my body. Friend of mine told me about how lifting can actually increase your strength. I decided to check it out and have been involved in sports ever since. I moved to the states recently, and have been delighted by the available opportunities for fitness enthusiasts . I've pretty much competed in every sport available, football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, and wrestling. At the college level though I realized that my size won't get me anywhere farther than college. Its a sad sad truth that I have to live with, but bodybuilding opened another door for me, which I just recently got involved in.
Whenever I am 100% hitting the weights and diet, I am also consistent in other parts of life, including academics and social life. It also taught me to control my emotions, suppress my anger, and exhaust my energy for good use.
