I have been an on and off exercise enthusiast since I had my first son in 2008. I kicked butt at home doing workout vids while being a SAHM and within 18 months I had lost the 30lbs I gained with my first pregnancy.
After my husband made it home from Iraq in 2009 I started climbing in the scales again, then going back to work full time and finding out I was pregnant again in 2010 I was already up to 192lbs. By the time I had our second son in Nov. 2011 I was over 200lbs, try 210 to be exact! I knew things had to change, I was hypothyroid, had 2 little boys who needed me, and I was a hot mess emotionally. So I begged my husband to switch gyms and we did while I was still 6 months pregnant with #2, Lifetime Fitness was a GOD SEND! I had awesome access to child care that I didn't feel guilty leaving my kid with, I had a gym that was too good to be true, and I was in LOVE with going there.
I became interested in running after I had our second son, my goal was to run my first 5k in less than 45 min before he turned 1 year old, I finished that goal in Oct 2012 in 40m 38s! Jogging/Running was something I started seeing results with, I dropped down to 199lbs, in Feb 2013 I ran my second 5k. I finished that one in 36m 55s and that was my new PR! Since then I have been adding in bootcamp classes 2-3 times a week and still trying to get some indoor treadmill runs in while taking the kids out to walk in the park. I have lost 9lbs since the begining of 2013 and I don't plan to stop anytime soon!
Cause it has saved my sanity, my body, my children, my marriage, and given me something to look forward to every day!
