I grew up in Fiji Islands, weight was never an issue for me. Growing up, my immune system was very weak, I would scratch myself playing and next thing I know is going to see the doctor due to nasty infection; I was always missing school due to my sickness. Not till when I was in High school and moved from one city to another is when I started playing sports. I loved volleyball, tracks, and would play rugby and soccer with boyz in my school. I wasnât tom boy but was notorious =)
In 1998 we decided to leave Fiji and migrated to settle in California, I remember my first ID card, I had to get weighed, I was 105 lbs back then; well I was barley 19 then too. Years went by, I started dating, taking birth controls, relationships took toll on my body and mind⦠I found myself signing up to join Air Force in 2003. I remember signing into my first duty station in November of 2003 and the scale calculated me at 135, at this time I was about 25 years old. By now I was on birth control shot for 7 years, not knowing the effect it had on my body, till when in 2008 I moved to California weighing about 152lbs, thatâs when it all started or shall I say stopped. I met 2 very amazing friends who changed my life, literally from the way I looked to who I am today. They both are very much into health and fitness, so their perfection rubbed on meâ¦thanks Crys & Dawn!!!
11 years later, still serving this great nation of ours⦠no I am neither skinny nor fat, I am learning a lot about my body and my goal is to change my body from inside out. I started lifting in 2012 and have a love affair with weights room since then LOL. Numbers on scale don't bother me, instead I focus on adding few extra lbs to my sets. I want to look stronger while maintaining my curves.
Nothing gets me going when I am in beast mode in the gym, sweating my ass off, runny mascara and snotty nose--listening to sexy and I know it and still get few heads turning =) attention is always good but knowing you pushed harder then what you did last week and seeing results is an awesome feeling!
