I had really started because of health issues in 2000, gaining knowledge about nutrition and fitness. I started Wing Chun Kung Fu and weapons training in 2001. I did not have any healthy role models or healthy information growing up. I had been working as a model/ actress in 2005 so I absolutely had to develop some sort of routine to shape my body.
I have had at times uphill battles with my health & body. Trying to be in peak physical condition when you have Fibromyalgia and CFS is not always easy, especially since you don't have the same pain and recovery of the "normal" person. Throughout my life I've it seems I was on a yoyo from health falling back to illness, to pick myself up again, when I was allowed then get back on track.
For many years I have been using myself as a human guinea pig, especially since 2005, finding what works for me and what doesn't. What is short lived and what can sustain. I am still on that journey, but happy with what I now know about my own body.
I love the feeling when you find a workout that doesn't even feel like "work." It's the exhilaration of energy rushing through your body, combined with being in the moment and feeling that good in your own skin.
