Life Fitness history:
1st Epoch: Martial Arts- especially Judo
2nd Epoch: Competitive Swimming and Water Polo (throughout junior high and high school)
3rd Epoch: Modern and folk dancing... then professional Ballet dancing and ultimately Professional Flamenco Dancing. (At its height I trained 7 hours a day in dancing).
(retired from dancing... got a littlefat)
4th Epoch: Couldn't stand the fat, nor could I stand the bad feeling of not being physically fit like I was as a dancer... Started Aerobics and some weight training (but never really successful at getting muscles that show.
University and Work got in the way.
5th Epoch... disgusted again with the fat that came back... and the bad feeling... but I am older now... so .... back to cardio... and bodyweight exercizing, and yoga... a little martial arts training... and CRAVING MUSCLES #$%-^&*#-!^!!!
Actually- not just because I never had the chest and arms I wanted, now that I am old I am a little concerned about muscle atrophy and I want to fight aging as much as possible.
Latest... pretty happy with how my muscle obsession is slowly but surely working out and keeping my body in shape and gaining (despite my age)
6th Epoch... I train in Gyms in Germany, Greece, but also home bodyweight workouts... but NOW I started MMA training... especially BJJ and I am doing amateur matches for fun. LOVE IT.
7th Epoch.... :-( bruised rib. put me out of commission for a while and I got lazy.
8th Epoch... fucking 2020 lol. Just logging back into BB.com in order to turn my habit back in a positive direction. MMA is out because of injuries. Lately more than anything I like cross country fitness. (Gyms basically closed this year. (I am locked down in Athens GR as I write this).
Just in case this is useful for meeting local friends...
My residence is in Germany. Specifically Baden-Baden Germany but I like to come and go between there and Saarbrueken DE(work). Also... I am often in Athens Greece. Occasionally Corfu Greece (Gyms include Holmes Place Athens and or Marina Gym Gouvia). If you are in or near Baden-Baden don't be shy. I have a hard time finding like minded guy friends there.
I hate the feeling of being a couch potato. I like to get up and get outside as much as possible. I am extremely energetic... most who know me don't know how to keep up with me and my non-stop energy level. Working out keeps me happy.
I don't really enjoy being at the gym... but I am determined to get back into weights to achieve my muscle growth goals.
I would rather be ... wrestling, swimming, running, hiking, trail running, camping, roller blading, ice skating, snow skiiing, water skiiing, wake boarding, in a fun aerobic or dance class, running an obstacle course, kayaking, rowing, walking, doing calisthenics / body weight on the beach, dune, at the park, in the forest, or in an intense yoga session. I want to live forever... fit so I can enjoy myself.
