I knew I wasn't healthy or active, I was going through a difficult time in my life which brought me to a doctor's visit. Of course, they do the basic such as checking weight, vital signs, etc. When they checked my weight, they told me I was 270 lbs. which scared me. It wasn't the wake up call I needed as I was focused on improving other areas in my life. Before the New Year stared for 2012, I made a resolution, a promise to myself to become active, eat healthier and let any negative force in life serve as drive to better myself. A year later, I weigh at 185 lbs. and still aim to lose a bit more as well as begin the bodybuilding process.
The way I see it, working out serves a bigger purpose than just looking good. It allows us to challenge the negative forces in our lives and turn it into the drive we need, so that we may live happier, healthier, more productive lives. I love working out may it be through walking outdoors or using a fitness dvd for guided direction because it helps me find peace as well as find myself. I also enjoy finding new ways to challenge myself!
