I needed a change. While I wasn't overweight, I wasn't happy with the state of my body externally and internally. I decided to resume healthy eating practices abandoned due to time restrictions and get myself to the gym. I hated the gym. Absolutely despised it. Mostly because my university's gym was pretentious. After joining a 24 hour fitness, everything turned around. My three year gym hiatus all but memories. Although I made substantial progress, a sudden move from the area and my gym membership set me back. I maintained positive nutrition, but the lack of physical fitness for the few weeks was despairingly evident in my first workouts. Lets just say walking and standing were painful activities after leg days.
The solo journey was sufficient until I began considering training for competition. I am not certain of these goals yet, however, I figure working out as if that is my goal certainly can't hurt any. This brought me to this site. I can't wait to share my results!
The more I do, the better I feel. Stress seems to dissipate and is replaced with motivation. The best part is hearing people, especially my mother, say I look great. Although I have always been thin, thanks to my height, working out has given me a greater level of confidence throughout my life. Mentally, I am growing in strength and I only see that increasing. Never before have I seen this growth in myself in such a short time and it is all thanks to my physical activity. Turns out, Reese Witherspoon was onto something in "Legally Blonde."
