Played Aussie Rules Football as a junior and enjoyed being fit. After dislocating my shoulder a number of times and being forced to throw in the towel on my footy I became sedentary, apart from the odd run here and there. I had to be pretty focused on my food because I do tend to put on BF very easily. Although I never really blew up too much I felt my frame had lost its strength and structure so I hooked up with a mate and told him to take me to the gym with him next time he went. I've never looked back since. I guess you could say I got addicted to the DOMS.
There's a certain euphoria felt after a massive lift session or run session when you achieve what seems to be the unthinkable. It's that euphoria you chase session after session.
I love the way you can control the shape your body takes by the work you do in the gym, on the track and the discipline you maintain with your food. The pleasure of having the body you want far out ways the pleasure of the sleep-ins and naughty foods.
