After graduating college, I decided to set life goals for myself instead of being the average complacent person I have been. One of these was gaining 15-20 pounds of muscle by the next of the next year. I was never new to lifting; however, I never understood how to gain weight. So, what did I do? I hit the books and read up a lot on not only what to do, but how to properly gain muscle mass.
Since my metabolism is incredibly fast and I typically eat more carbohydrates than protein, I had to completely change my diet. I focused on a high protein diet while eating many vegetables, fruits, and good fats but in-taking more calories than I burned. Within about a half a year I had unbelievable results. I stuck to my diet, focused on lifting heavy with excellent form, low reps, good sleep, and most importantly a determined and positive attitude. This is attributed to my goals which I have now surpassed. I intend to keep moving forward and hope to gain an additional 30 pounds to which from where I currently am. If you have an tips or information to share please feel free to shed some light on this subject with me!
The intensity of pushing your body to the limit was only understood by me when it came to sports and running. Once I got a hold of this in the gym, it was game over. Working out is addicting now! Seeing the results and how far you have come to make just a few gains feels like you have climbed mountains
