I started bodybuilding right out of HS and competed in 1988. I left the sport, went to Chiropractic school and got into training and showing dogs (Rottweilers). I had my right hip replaced in 2010. I was in so much pain that being active was almost impossible and I gained a lot of weight and was VERY out of shape. Around 2013 I had a friend video my dog doing protection work and they got me in the video. I was mortified on how I looked!! I decided then and there to lose weight. i had to for myself as well as I knew i was going to have to have my left hip replaced soon. I started swimming and doing light weights. But soon I realized how much I missed bodybuilding and got hooked again. I dropped about 3 clothes sizes in less than a year. I am fully involved with lifting again!! I had my left hip replaced in March of 2015.
I love being strong and seeing the changes in my body. Working out helped me recover quickly from my surgery. I was in the gym on the treadmill 3 days after being released from the hospital from having my left hip replaced and was training upper body again a week and a half later. It feels so good to be strong and fit again!!! I am still a work in progress and I want to see where I can take this 50 yo body!!
