I started lifting in March of 2013 because my current boyfriend then was into it and I wanted to do something other then the hours of cardio I did weekly for my Cross Country/Track team. I wouldn't say I got serious about it until August of 2013 when I was questioned multiple times about competing. That is when I took the plunge unexpectedly to compete a week later. I took 1st place in the Teen Bikini and then in October I took 1st again in the Teen Bikini division and got a sponsorship by my local GNC. As of right now I have competed in 3 Women's Physique shows placing 7th, 4th, and 5th respectively. After my last show I plan on moving down into the Figure division.
Bodybuilding is more than just lifting weights and getting big. To me it is a lifestyle that cannot be perfected. I enjoy the challenge of all aspects of it. From the dieting, to sculpting of the body, to learning new lifts and perfecting techniques. It is an endless trial and error sport, where you can always improve. Not to mention the beauty and personal achievements one can receive from the sport. Not only has bodybuilding become something I love to do. It also have helped my health both physically and mentally.
