In February 2014, my husband and I both agreed we were unsatisfied with the way we looked. We had both packed on a few pounds since marriage and struggled to look in the mirror. We agreed to start going to the gym together and work to improve our bodies. I will admit that I wanted to look better, but I entered into the gym half heartedly. It took months for me to become fully dedicated.I had never considered myself a "healthy" person, Slowly, I started to fall more in love with weight training. Working out has become a major part of my marriage. We started this journey together and are each others support system. Some days are still hard to find motivation, but having an accountability partner keeps me on track!
As a nurse, I deal with people ALOT. In the gym, I can turn up my music, turn off my thoughts, and just lift something heavy. Someday I feel like the gym is the only thing that keeps me sane. My husband and I started this journey together. We may not always get to work out together, but it is a hobby that we both love. He is always encouraging and pushing me to be my best self. This hobby has became a way of life for my family. I love pouring my time and energy into such a rewarding sport. Once you see results, it becomes an obsession.
