I was the skinny kid in high school even as a varsity athelete. I joined the Marines and still was the skinny kid. I got fed up and started hitting the iron. I could never push past a body weight of 190 pounds at 6' 5". I didnt like my body I hated it. I was on float in the Mid East and one day I stepped on the scale and topped out at 235! I had left at around 190. I quit dipping and I guess the perfect storm had hit me. I never looked back even though I see the skinny kid in the mirror. My current goal is to get down to around 10% BF. Being in the Marines it is difficult for me to do this as I can potentially lose a bit of muscle mass in the process. I am currently not deploying so this is a great time to do so.
It is about me. My life style is built around self sacrafice from my children, my wife to the Marines society has priveleged me with leading. The gym is my time for me! Its the iron vs me and how deep I am willing to dig that day.
