I had been running marathons and half marathons for a while. My wife and I went to dinner with another couple who are very fitness oriented. We began talking about how I run three to four times per day but couldn't make progress on my weight or body composition. He suggested I come in and work out with him at the gym where he worked (he's also a full time firefighter). He wanted me to try a workout program called CrossFit.
I went in and the rest as they say is history. I've been working out at his CrossFit gym for over three years now. I can say I am not where I want to be, but I am light years from where I started.
Working out provides a great sense of accomplishment for me every time I walk out those doors. The community of our CrossFit gym is spectacular. I've learned more about working out, pushing myself, and nutrition over the past few months than I could ever have done on my own.
