I joined the Marines in December of 2009. Having always been the competitive type (sports, especially in high school - swimming, baseball), I got into the gym with a buddy of mine in MOS school to work toward some goals together. After a month and a half, I saw progress that I'd never seen in myself before. I've been on and off for the last couple of years, but I'm hoping to get back into it and maybe make this a career.
I love the idea that my body is like a moldable art canvas. You form this vision of where you want to take yourself, and then design that image through meticulous, careful planning, and a passion for what you're doing. I like to compete - to go harder and faster than others, to be the best, and win. What body building gives you is ike no other sport in the world, because your biggest competition is yourself. Overcoming doubt, fear, pride, and your own limits. It's all worth it for that buzz at the end of a gym session where you know you've conquered yourself just a little more each time.
