My active and fit youth gave way to years of long commutes, sitting in an office all day, high level stress, and unhealthy habits. I turned that around in my 40's and it felt incredible! Then, I became a full time caregiver to a loved one. The more they needed, the less self care I practiced. That chapter has ended and I now realize the emotional and physical toll I spent. Although I have no aches and pains, I have gained over 50 lbs, become very sedentary and feel tired all of the time. I need to lose weight, gain muscle, build stamina, and increase my energy level so I can feel alive again.
It is time to work turn things around so that I can extend my health span another 50+ years and enjoy life. I am ready to take the necessary steps to begin my transformation. I posted pics from 10 years ago to my profile here, to remind myself of what I looked like before and to inspire myself for even higher goals. I am ready to get this body into the best shape it has ever been in!!!
I like the way working out makes me look and feel: ALIVE! It is a necessary part of my goals for an extended health span and longevity. It helps me eat and sleep better and also provides me with more energy. The functional aspects will ensure I maintain stability, strength, mitochondrial efficiency, and anaerobic output; pillars that will keep me functional until I am at least 100. I want my biological age to defy my chronological years. Plus, the transformation process is incredible. I look forward to changing my silhouette one workout at a time.
