I am a veteran Army Officer. I served for 7 years as a logistician before opting for a career change into the medical field.
I suffered some injuries during my service that caused me to falter in my fitness. It has been an uphill battle getting back into the shape. Prior to injury, I was an avid half marathoner and was about 15-20 lbs lighter that my current stats. :-/ Doc orders have squashed the long competitive runs, but strength training is a go.
I'm healed up, and now it's Time for a reckoning - I want to get back to my previous level of fitness (and then some)
This site has become my new addiction, and it am open to any tidbits of experience from the more seasoned people here. The incredible transformations are huge motivators! The tenacity and dedication is humbling.
Skinny..meh! I think Strength is the new healthier pretty.
As I have transitioned to my new career field, I want to set a good example to the goal of my profession.
I am now a certified volunteer FF/ EMT going onward into either Nursing, Physical Therapy, or PA school.
The way I look at it -no one would trust a dentist with bad teeth, nor hair stylist with fried locks
So why would you trust a healthcare provider that did not follow a healthy routine.
I want to set a good example for my patients as well as maintaining myself.
