After years of a horrible, horrible diet of processed foods and basically nothing healthy (no veggies or anything), no exercise, a lot of bad relationships and drama, a lot of alcohol and partying, and feeling bad physically and mentally, I basically woke up one day and decided I needed to change things. I started with walking. I bought a treadmill so I didnt have to embarrass myself in the gym. After I got comfortable, I did actually go embarrass myself at the gym. lol. Within a year of that, some health problems came up. I decided I needed something more drastic and tried kickboxing. Loved loved loved it! Then decided I wanted muscles!!!!! I would do the little circuits at the gym, but I was confused so I hired a trainer (someone who I trusted would get me where I wanted and was a former instructor from kickboxing). I loved it so much I trained with him for a year. Havent looked back since (cardio, however, is a whole nother story)
I LOVE muscles! I love seeing how far I can push things, how much weight I can lift, seeing if I can PR. Its a challenge to myself. Its a way to detress and forget about forget about everything while you are at the gym focusing on yourself.
