I've always been active, dabbling in sports throughout my life, but I never really committed to a true fitness goal. The past few years have really redefined by views and understanding of what it truly means to be fit and healthy. Within that time frame, I've met other fitness enthusiasts whom have inspired me and gave me the guidance and confidence I needed to finally dedicate myself to training for a competition.
On a daily basis, I strive to maintain a clean diet and regular strength training regimen, while consistently trying to improve myself and inspire others. However, things haven't always been and aren't easy. Being the perfectionist I am, I've learned my fear of failure has held me back in some ways. Never achieving goals I set for myself and the fear of not living up to my own standards often times prevented me from trying new things. In order to never feel let down, I've had to learn to keep myself motivated and focused. I've learned that failing is acceptable, progression rather than perfection is OK, and once success is finally achieved (regardless of how many times you failed) you feel a greater sense of accomplishment. The respect you gain for yourself, knowing you gave it your all and finally came out on top is well worth all the baby steps it took to get there. So, keep striving and whatever you're afraid of, DO IT. CONQUER IT.
