My fitness journey began after the birth of my daughter. I had always said one day I would like to run a 10k, but never thought I could. I decided that the year my daughter was born was the year I would scratch that off my bucket list. I ran my first 10k the day before my 30th birthday. The following spring I signed up for my first half-marathon. One week into training I discovered I was pregnant and had to put my goal on hold. After the birth of my son, I decided once again to sign up for my first half marathon. I have since completed two half marathons. Currently, I am weight training as well as running. After the first of the year, my focus will shift a little towards running as I prepare for my first full marathon in May. But I look forward to getting back to weight training once I scratch "run full marathon" off my bucket list.
