In December 2010, I got to my heaviest which was 196 pounds. I was eating fast food and drinking alcohol on the regular. It's true what they say about college lol. I wasn't always that way. Growing up i was always involved in sports from everything from soccer, to swimming, to lacrosse, to softball, etc. The fact that I was still playing sports but getting this unhealthy had made me realize I needed to change. I dropped the party scene for Zumba...yes, ZUMBA. It was the only "fun" thing I was willing to do. I started watching what I ate and dropped 20 pounds. Then I discovered Turbo Kick and dropped another 20 pounds. That amazing instructor who is now a great friend introduced me to "Bootycamp" where I began circuit training and dropped another 5 pounds. My coworker introduced me to BodyPump where I really started challenging myself with weights and I've been progressing ever since. Now I'm less dependent on group exercise and classes (although I still love them and attend regularly), I am able to get my ass into the gym and train. I just started really understanding the concept of clean eating. I believe with my new knowledge and capability, I can get to the next level of success. My whole world is about health & fitness now! And I love to surround myself with other positive and success-driven people :)
What better addiction to have? Your body is a temple and you should be able to create, shape and build it into the perfect temple for you. I love having high energy and feeling strong. I love feeling confident about my appearance, but MOST OF ALL, I love inspiring other people to make a change in their lives. Since a lot of people have seen the old me, they are usually in shock when they see me now and I'm not even at my goals yet! I love that I can pass out what worked for me and help motivate them to do what works for them.
