I was always pretty active especially in high school with softball and cheer leading as well. After having two kids I was always focused on losing fat and never put much thought into building strength. My husband one day was telling me about how he was going to start a new workout routine he found on bodybuilding.com and start to eat clean and healthy foods compared to processed and I always thought since I made everything from scratch that it was enough but we read an article on bodybuilding.com together about the foods we should be eating and more importantly portion control and I was shocked at how much I was over eating. That is where our family fitness journey began. Now after having our third child we are still learning and bettering our health and the health of our family as well.
For everyone it is different! For me personally as a wife and mom of three I LOVE working out sometimes its me time and other times it is incorporated to our family time. I love getting out in the back yard and sweating my butt off with a kettle bell especially on leg day! At the same time I love getting outside with the family and playing a small game of soccer or basketball we have a blast and are exercising at the same time. Working out is an addiction for me, I am an all in or nothing kind of person and I love being able to see my hard work pay off every time I notice that my endurance is growing and or my strength. Challenging myself is my favorite, when you let your mind get out of your body's way you will be amazed what you can accomplish!
