Growing up I was never really into any sports at all, I wasnât really âgoodâ at anything and whenever I tried, people would knock me down telling me I wasnât good enough, this caused me to become very insecure about myself and I stopped trying.
After highschool, I got right into a sales office and quickly realized that sitting at a desk eating all day made me HUGEâ¦. I gained 35lbs and after many terrible experiences, I ended up in the hospital after being diagnosed as clinically depressed.
I knew I had hit rock bottom and I had to get myself out of this rut and be happy again, thatâs when I started my life over and found fitness.
I started getting into working out about 3 years ago. At my heaviest, I weighed 145LBs ...size 9-10 pants.... at 5'2â â¦that is a lot of extra weight to carry around.
I exercised vigorously everyday, without any guidance or knowledge on what I needed to do I just pushed myself as hard as I could. Working out made me feel amazing, I was smiling and laughing again.
In July 2010, I went to see a WBFF fitness competition. I was amazedâ¦I couldnât believe the dedication it must have took for all those competitors to be on that stage! I knew that I needed to do this.
That is where I met my beautiful trainer, Lisa.
She believed in me and pushed me to compete in the 2010 IDFA Western Canadian Classic.
I placed 8th in the novice short class fitness model category!
I'm very proud to say I have competed and lost a total of 35lbs overall and my stage weight was 109lbs. Off season weight, 111-115lbs.
Whenever I need to be grounded, I take a read back into my journals from when I was in the hospital. I break down every timeâ¦it shows me how much I have grown, how far I have come and makes me feel so proud of myself for what I have accomplished in my lifeâ¦.and the best part is, this is only the beginning!
Yay me!!
