When I was 33 I had been out of the gym for six or seven years. Life was work, work, work and I had lost that aspect of my life. Shortly before I turned 34 I was promoted to Captain and found a had a little more time at hand and decided to get back in the gym and give up cigarettes once and for all...although I wasn't successful until 38!! I was an accomplished high school athlete but had no working knowledge of training / diet regiments...and so I began anew at 33 and slowly felt my way through the jungle of knowledge AND misinformation that exists out there.
When I met my wife in April of 2010 I was vastly improved from when I got back in the gym at 33. Although improved I still had much to learn, as I later would find out I was eating completely wrong and conducting workouts that were counterproductive to building lean muscle mass...I've learned so much and come so far since I started on this path and feel I have so much more to learn and gain.
My wife is my inspiration, as her intelligence and dedication to fitness and diet has truly put me with a life partner. I just hope to be able to keep up with all that she is...lol!!!
The high, the rush, the feeling of accomplishment I get from putting in the time and making my body something that I want to show off not hide. I've never had a weight problem but have experienced a loss of well being by living of lifestyle of smoking and eating poorly with no workout routine to purge toxins. The feeling of purging all the junk coupled with the release of endorphins makes me feel energized.
I would like to continue to improve my physique and get in the ballpark of 6% body fat and entertain the idea of entering a drug free competition.
